Here we are, at the one year mark on our journey through the Covid Pandemic. After a last minute cancelation I have time to write about this, and feel compelled to share my own journey in how this past year has really helped me grow. I remember it well, how on St. Patrick's Day the announcement of shut downs was made, how much fear was in the air, and how powerless we truly are over the events of our lives.
I remember that my greatest concern was how am I going to feel fulfilled spiritually when I cannot do my work. I had to take time to grieve the loss of my business, and then I had to look at what it is that I get fulfillment from out of my work, and how can I meet those needs in new ways. That process brought me back to writing, how I can use my writing in order to connect spiritually. So I began writing Bring the Energy which combines the personal journey of my life with the events of the year.
Looking back, there are so many wonders that came forward as a result of this pandemic. For example, I don't think I have ever seen the buds of spring open in slow motion before, but my awareness of the activity was profound and beautiful. I got to learn to really sit with myself, a once in a life time opportunity! I had to take things one day at a time and accept what each new day brought. That is a tool for living that is well worth the practice. I got to learn how to trust that I would be ok, that I had a beautiful relationship unfolding where we got to learn to trust each other in beautiful new ways. And I got to experience different universal forces such as the planetary parade and the great conjunction.
For all of the amazing aspects of life that I was able to be a part of this year, so many people experienced hardship and suffering unimaginable. If their was ever a time to bring more light and energy into this world, the time is now. As a result of this past year, I have been able to shift my focus into doing more of that. If I can do anything with this life, my wish is to leave it in better shape than I found it in and do what I can to make it shine more brightly.
